A Knox County farmer is being honored by the Purdue Ag Alumni Association.
Earlier this month, Paul Singleton was among seven Purdue University alumni to be awarded the Agricultural Alumni Association’s highest honor – the Certificate of Distinction.
The certificate is given yearly to alumni making significant contributions to agriculture, forestry and natural resources in their careers and daily lives.
Singleton has been a farmer in Knox County since 1975 and has served as a USDA Farm Service Agency director. During that time, he made and serviced more than 500 loans to beginning farmers in 11 counties over a 35-year period.
Singleton has also served on the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation Alliance, which served a total of nine counties in the state.
