Winter Won’t Slow Down City Projects

Posted on December 7th, 2018

As we get closer to the first official day of winter, you may be wondering how the cold temperatures will impact ongoing construction in Vincennes, such as the Main Street Project or Parking Lot at 6th and Main.

According to Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum, it won’t.

With the regard to the parking lot at the corner of 6th and Main, Yochum says Kerns Excavating is within their 60 day window to have the parking lot done. After completion of the lot, the public will be able to park in the lot as Kerns takes an additional 60 days to completing lighting and canopy work.

Further out on Main Street, Yochum says Phase One is still on track to wrap up in October of next year. The eventual endgame for the project will see sidewalks extended to Clark Middle School, along with a wider road.

All work will be done so long as weather permits.
