City Seeking Grant for Pantheon Work

Posted on November 13th, 2018

The City of Vincennes is taking the reins on a grant application that could have a big impact on the Pantheon Business Theater Project.

At their meeting this evening, the Council will discuss a resolution that would see Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum apply for a grant from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, on the city’s behalf.

The Public Facilities grant is the same grant Knox County has gone after twice, but failed to secure. As part of the application, the city would agree to put up $54,000 as a local match.

The funds would allow the city to pay for improvements of the Pantheon’s facade, including window work and a new marquee.

Tonight’s City Council meeting gets underway at 6:00 p.m. in Vincennes City Hall.
