Those looking to learn more about the Knox County CASA program will have their chance next week.
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate, and those who volunteer for the program serve as a voice for local children in the court system.
Locally, CASA is always in need of volunteers. And while the number of volunteers has been going up, the number of children in need of assistance remains higher.
CASAs go through 30 hours of training to learn more about the local court system and how to better serve the children involved.
The Coffee with CASA event will take place Monday at Gracie’s, located at 711 Main Street in Vincennes, from 9:30 a.m. to Noon.
